FLASHING LIGHTS

The Red Carpet at Haven on Friday night was so bright, I almost needed my Foster Grant Sunglasses to see! The first arrival that I captured was uber sexy hunk, Mr. Gilles Marini, the naked hottie from the "Sex and the City" movie (ladies and some of the boys out there know exactly who I am talking about and probably have some sort of a visual in their heads right now!) and one of the new contestants on "Dancing with the Stars." I asked him who he thinks his biggest competition may be. He answered, "Steve Wozniak." That's right-the furry, but I am sure lovable, co-founder of Apple Computers! He said that Steve had some serious moves. I guess it remains to be seen, so be sure to tune in to this season's, "Dancing with the Stars."

Next up, Kendra Wilkinson, star of the "Girls Next Door" and the upcoming "Kendra." Clearly, the girl is in love with her fiancee, Hank Baskett of the Philadephia Eagles, because every time she spoke about him, she blushed and her whole face lit up! My camera man, Brooks, barely even needed to spot the light on her as she glowed to me about her upcoming wedding at the Playboy Mansion. She also told me that her brother would be giving her away. However, she was a little out of sorts and only had 45 minutes to get ready for this event as she had spent her day preparing for her garage sale the following day. Bunny ears, anyone?

But the whole energy of the Carpet changed once Paris Hilton graced everyone with her presence. She came out to support her friend, Russell Simmons, who was showing his Argyle Culture Collection this evening, along with Born Uniqorn, designed by Taryn Manning and Tara Jane. Paris provided the shoes (not from her closet, although I am sure she has more than enough to do so) for the female models from her own signature collection. She was sporting some sort of glittery, flapper look that only Paris can pull off. When I asked her what makes her Red carpet ready, she shot back that it was her smile. Touche!

I caught up with with my friend and extremely talented fashion designer Abi Ferrin who had just flown in from Dallas for the event and Oscars weekend. She styled me for the night in one of her beautiful creations, a silky, one-shouldered number in the perfect shade of green. I got so many compliments in that little number that I now refer to it as my LGD (little green dress!)

I was then whisked away to a room upstairs in the house where I was granted a private interview with the one and only Mr. Russell Simmons. Oh-and that was as he was wrapping up his chat with the Queen-Queen Latifah, fresh from her Oscars rehearsals! Am I not always in the place to be?? Always gracious as this will be the 3rd time I have interviewed him, Russell was very excited about showing his Argyle Culture Collection that night. (It also now includes women's clothes which are so cool!) I asked him about who he designed the line for-the Urban Graduate-and who that person is. He got a big grin on his face and began cracking up and said that person was him-some time ago!! He also said that he would be enjoying his appearances again on "Reverend Run's House," the reality show based on his brother's family, Reverend Run of Run DMC. So set your Moxi recording devices!

I always love catching up with my girls, Tara Jane and Taryn Manning (or as I affectionately refer to them as T squared!) of Born Uniqorn. Total troopers-they had just flown in 4 hours before this party from showing their line in Vegas. Needless to say, the crowd loved their clothes and they even had their celebrity friend, Caroline D'Amore walking in their show. Never too tired, they were on their way to one of Paris' 5 birthday parties! The life of Hollywood Starlets........

Haven and all of the events were such a blast and I have to thank Hachette Filipacchi Media, specifically Elle.com, Elle Decor, Premiere.com, and American Photo for sponsoring and putting it all together, along with special events powerhouse, A-List Communications LLC. Well done!
